 0 - Onye's Blog: My 21st Wedding Anniversary

PersonalToday (9th April, 2009) is my 21st wedding anniversary. I gave my wife a bunch of rose flowers before she left for work. She was absolutely thrilled because this has not happened in over five years. This may be something normal for most couples, but for a lot more, it's a struggle. The story of how things got the way they did is just too long and I don't want to dwell on it anyway.

My wife and I have come a long way from a very very bad relationship. It's not yet honky-dory but we are getting there. To tell you how bad things went, I was actually processing divorce papers late last year without her knowledge. I just wanted to dump the papers on her and there is no doubt in my mind she would have gladly signed it. If you look at Quickie Divorce testimonials, somewhere on the page you would see where I was commending their service. I have also recently (27th March, 2009) moved back to the house after leaving when things just got too bad. Not just that, I actually terminated the tenancy agreement of the accommodation where I was staying, having resolved I will never leave the house again.

The journey to where we are today did not happen in one day. It's amazing, but do you wonder how you could read one thing today with a certain meaning. Then you read it again and you see the text in a whole new light. Well this is what happened to me with Hebrews 8:1-13, in particular, verse 12. After reading this, I decided I was going to make a new "agreement" with my wife, one-sided though, as our relationship was not such that I could discuss this with her. As if to confirm my decision, I then stumbled onto this eBook on how "You Can Save Your Marriage... Starting Today...Even If You Are The Only One Interested...". This just fit in with my plan on the new unilateral agreement with my wife. I also read another materila about how to "Bring back the Love of your Life!".

I do recommend the two books I have referred to. They did really help me. It's difficult for an outsider to appreciate how much without knowing how badly my marriage had deteriorated. Of course, where would we be without the Bible. Do grab these and help your relationship. Does not matter if all looks well in your relationship. These two books could help make it even better. On that note, I'm waiting to see what the evening brings today :-)
Best wishes
Onye
