Do you ever feel you're in a bad situation
When people are holding you back
Often because of mis-interpretation
You start to go down the wrong track
The opinions of others sticks in our mind
Because it matters to us what they say
Their fruitless words can make our eyes blind
And we start to go down the wrong way
Doubts arise and fears will soar
The thoughts of the spirit will dim
The words of God we will ignore
And life will start to look grim
Pleasing everyone cannot be done
We all want different things
God is the way through Jesus the son
What joy to our life this brings
Being mindful of man leads to destruction
It's the Lord whom we have to please
Doing whatever is his instruction
Will make things go with an ease
We all need each other but we need God more
Friends will come and go
Remember that Jesus has been there before
It's in him that you must grow
Friends can be critical and their view does count
And this has an impact on you
Take on their views, you're problems will mount
And affect everything that you do
Yes listen to others but don't take on board
The negative things that they say
Listen to Jesus for he is the Lord
He's all that matters at the end of the day.
